When you contribute to Mahaldeeb, your materials are carefully catalogued, attributed to you and your community, and made accessible to researchers, educators, and future generations — while you retain ownership of your originals.
What We Accept
Old family photos, island scenes, portraits, events, and historical images — prints or digital scans.
Recorded interviews with elders, family stories, and personal accounts of island life and traditions.
Letters, manuscripts, old maps, community records, and written accounts of Maldivian history.
Traditional tools, textiles, and objects — we document and photograph items with your permission.
Recordings of boduberu, traditional songs, ceremonies, and cultural performances.
Traditional recipes, medicinal knowledge, craft techniques, and other living cultural practices.
